Accomplished entrepreneur Tiphani Montgomery dropped out of college and became a mother in her teens before she became an Essence Magazine bestselling author in 2007 and the founder of Kingdom Entrepreneur University in 2015. In an interview for the Faithfully publication, Tiphani Montgomery credited her success to having “made God my CEO.”

A study by researchers at Radboud University in the Netherlands also showed a connection between entrepreneurial prowess and the belief in God. The study assessed the risk behaviors of entrepreneurs who believe in God as well as those who do not and found that the former group is less likely to engage in risks considered "self-destructive" and more likely to embrace risks with bigger emotional and financial rewards. The study attributed these behaviors to the moral compass and faith in divine protection among those who believe in God.

Sharing the study’s findings, Inc. magazine noted the additional confidence that can develop from a belief in God may greatly aid entrepreneurs. As studies have shown, it takes a component of overconfidence to set out on one's own and establish a business in the first place.
